To mark International Human Rights Day on 10 December 2021, UQ’s Centre for Research Excellence on Achieving the Tobacco Endgame (Tobacco Endgame CRE) and Centre for Policy Futures and the University of Groningen's Global Health Law Research Centre will host a 1-hour online panel event focusing on how the Tobacco Endgame is a matter of health and human rights. Panellists will consider strategic ways on why law (and specifically human rights law, policy & principle) is an important tool for health researchers engaged in advancing the Tobacco Endgame in Australia and internationally. Discussion will also focus on the ways that law can be leveraged for rights-based sustainable, equity-driven human and environmental health and wellbeing outcomes of inter-generational impact.
