Researcher biography

Dr Daniel Stjepanovic trained as an experimental neuroscientist with a focus on the development of cognitive paradigms and translation of animal models to advance our understanding of human behaviours. Dr Stjepanovic is a Senior Research Fellow at the National Centre for Youth Substance Use Research where, in collaboration with epidemiologists, modellers and clinicians he works to understand how drug policy influences use, how shifts in use patterns are changed and can be predicted, and what individual factors might drive decisions to use a substance and maintain its use. Working broadly within the field of substance use, Dr Stjepanovic is particularly interested in tobacco and nicotine, cannabis, and psychedelic use.
