Researcher biography

Dr Daniel Erku is a pharmacist and public health researcher, with training and experience in using (pharmaco) economic evaluations to inform health policies and improve outcomes for patients. Before he moved to Australia to pursue his PhD at The University of Queensland (2018-2020), Dr Erku worked as a faculty at the University of Gondar in Ethiopia (2015-2018), teaching courses related to medicine access issues, pharmacoepidemiology, pharmacotherapy, and pharmacy practice. Recently, Dr Erku moved to the Centre for Applied Health Economics (CAHE), Griffith University where he is working as a Health Economics Research Fellow on a range of research projects within the Australia Centre for Cannabinoid Clinical and Research Excellence, Australia's first federally funded research centre in medicinal cannabinoids (NHMRC via CRE scheme).
