Researcher biography

Dr Mostafa Mardani is a Senior Research Assistant at the School of Public Health and a Research Assistant at the Centre for Clinical Research (UQCCR), University of Queensland. He holds a PhD in Social Work, with expertise in addiction, harm reduction, homelessness, and the impact of substance use on families. His current research focuses on tobacco control and public health, as well as community engagement in health research. Dr Mardani has extensive experience working with vulnerable populations and has a strong background in both qualitative (including grounded theory, content analysis, and interpretative phenomenological analysis) and quantitative (surveys and randomised controlled trials) research methods. His work is driven by a commitment to evidence-informed policy and practice in the fields of addiction and public health.
