Researcher biography
A/Prof Hua Yong is a public health researcher focusing on tobacco control. His main research has been the use of population-based survey data to understand the psychosocial and behavioural impact on smokers of national level tobacco control measures such as standardized (plain) packaging, health warnings, anti-smoking mass-media campaign, tax increases, smoke-free policy, etc. More recently, Dr Yong's research focuses on nicotine vaping products (aka e-cigarettes), the relative risk perceptions of different nicotine-containing products and the psychosocial determinants of smoking relapse.
