Researcher biography

Isabel Meciar is a PhD candidate at the Centre of Research Excellence on Achieving the Tobacco Endgame. She holds a Bachelor of Science (Psychology), and a Master of Public Health (Alcohol, Tobacco, and Other Drugs) from The University of Queensland. Isabel's research investigates best practice measures to regulate and control the illicit tobacco supply chain in Australia. 

She has previously worked as a Senior Research Assistant at The University of Queensland, and has gained international experience as a consultant for the Secretariat of the WHO Framework Convention on Tobacco Control (WHO FCTC) and as an intern with the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) Research and Trend Analysis Branch in Vienna, where she contributed to research on the illicit tobacco trade.
